La Puente

"La Puente: A nonprofit organization serving Colorado's San Luis Valley with emergency shelter, food, and advocacy to the homeless and community members in crisis. We meet the immediate needs of people while and empowering them to live independently with dignity."

With many of our members serving on the board and various small church groups assisting with the many outreach and community investments that La Puente provides and leads, it was a no brainer to continue strengthening our relationship. We host many groups throughout the summer who come to help and serve at La Puente, and once a quarter our UMW group provides and serves food.

Check out their latest video about their work and mission in the San Luis Valley community: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7zRIovIqJg

You can help through any of their various programs in the valley through shopping and donating at the thrift stores (Rainbow's End), volunteering with the PALS program, meeting at Milagro's for an excellent cup of coffee and atmosphere, or donating/volunteering  to their food bank with healthy and nutritious food.

We are each other's neighbors, and can serve and be present to each other, with dignity, for a better community and a better world.
